Monongalia Iron Company incorporated
The Virginia General Assembly passed an act which incorporated the Monongalia Iron Company by the following: Evan T. Ellicott, Andrew Ellicott, and Elias Ellicott. The company's purpose was to manufacture iron and other articles in Monongalia County and Preston County.
